Went back through my computer....

to hunt down these shots.  Now, I really wasn't planning on posting specific images for Memorial Day, although it is pretty awesome timing.  I just wanted to sit down and edit some gorgeous, early morning shots I took at the Washington Soldiers Home in Orting, Washington.  It was amazing to walk around in this cemetery, many of these soldiers were from the late 1800's and the early 1900's.  I admit, I took these back around October of last year, but finding time to edit these has been difficult.  Our lovely daughter will be one soon and she consumes a lot of time, energy, and memory cards of her own.

The sun brings out the crazies....

Well, maybe not the crazies, just the mom with a camera.  Dragged Sophia out into the beautiful, yet rare, sunshine on Friday for a few pictures.  Taking pictures of her has definitely changed over the past year;  she has found a wonderful, yet stubborn personality.  I'm lucky because she is still just shy of walking off during a shoot.
Pretty sure she is wondering why she's sitting in the garden

Just shy of the really scrunched up face

Pulled up to standing

Push the 'Play' Button

Being a parent is and has been the best job of my life and a huge passion.  There is, however, a passion of mine that I put on pause to have those children.  Photography.  I put down the camera because of all the chemicals, I shot only black and white film, and developed myself.  Now, having a digital camera, I am finally ready to push the 'play' button on my life and return to my passion.  Here I am with a new business, a blog page, and some new pictures.  I plan to share business photographs here, nature/fine art pictures, and whatever else springs to mind at the time.  Look out world, Melissa Ide is ready to take you on one click at a time.
